What is a Certified Professional Coach?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

 

How does coaching differ from the support or a friend or family member?

 

While the support of your family or friends is invaluable, they do not have the tools and professional training needed to objectively guide you to success. As a coach, I will develop a program that is tailored to reach the goal that together, you and I define. 

 

How does coaching work?

 

Our initial session will consist of reviewing the assessment you will complete prior to our first meeting. The assessment will help us outline your current situation and needs, overall objective(s), and initial plan of action and timeline goal. We will also discuss my coaching policies, fees, and set a weekly session schedule. Coaching contracts will typically span three months, but can be extended based on the wants or needs of the client.

Weekly sessions run approximately 50 minutes, and can be in person (if local), via phone, or Skype. As a coaching client, you will remain engaged outside of our sessions by completing weekly assignments.

Examples of client-specific goals range from:

  • Gaining self-confidence

  • Landing the job you want

  • Moving on after a break up

  • Repairing a relationship

  • Adding a better focus to your life
